The G46 was used in Italian Air force
as an advanced training in the flight schools and in the Academy,
as well as at the air war school, since 1949 till 1956, but it
remained in service with the Air force also in the following years.
Since 1958 the Italian Air force started
to yield the G46 for the Italian Aero Clubs. This gave the aircraft
a second life. The aircraft was soon discovered and loved ny many
pilots that could fly a small fighter and it was soon called "gigetto".
Here I-AEHD of Aero Club of Padova in flight over Veneto.
Also
the single seater was used in Aero Clubs. Here our friend Adriano
Ferrari on I-AEKE
A very nice picture
of the fleet of Aero Club of Padova in the sixties; we can see Fiat
G46, Macchi MB 308, stinson L5 and the tail of an Avia Fl3.
