As You can see from the picture the fuel system of the falco is based
on two main fuel tanks, both located in the fuselage.
We have else two other tanks; one is for the inverted flight and is
feeded by the front tank, and a tank for the smoke system, located just
below the aft tank.
This is the way the aft fuel tank is installed. On the both sides you
can see the black stripes of aluminium that keep the tank. The wood spacer
has been drilled to reduce weight.
Another view of the installation.
This is the fuel strainer we made just behind frame 6.
But we're using the same system used in the original Falco. In fact
we need a drain valve that can be used to empty the aft fuel tank
to reach the Aerobatic weight and balance. The cover is also an original
part made by Laverda
And this is the interesting part, since the cover can be opened easily
for draining. The same cover has another purpose, since it's used to
take air out of the cockpit.
We have still to make the hole in the plywood for this purpose.
A first picture of the vent system. We're using Nylo-seal tubing and
fittings. This "T" is on frame 6 and the tubing is coming
from the front fuel tank.
